Join Little Prairie UMC for our traditional family-friendly candlelight Christmas Eve Service.
Our Christmas Eve candlelight service is a cherished tradition for our community, offering a serene and reflective atmosphere to celebrate the holiday's spiritual significance. We invite everyone, ages 0 to 100 to gather in our dimly lit sanctuary, where the gentle glow of candlelight creates an ambiance of warmth and reverence during the communal singing of Silent Night.
The service includes the reading of biblical passages recounting the birth of Jesus, interspersed with the singing of traditional carols like "Silent Night" and "O Holy Night." As the service progresses, attendees may participate in a symbolic lighting of candles, passing the flame from one to another, symbolizing the spread of light and hope. This poignant ritual fosters a sense of unity and peace, reminding participants of the deeper meanings of Christmas, such as love, joy, and goodwill toward all.
